What are we raising money for?
The Colostomy Association is the leading stoma charity in the United Kingdom. It provides invaluable support to thousands of ostomates, their families and carers pre and post operatively. Almost one person in every 500 people in the UK is likely to be affected by stoma surgery.
Their range of free services include a 24 hour helpline manned by trained volunteers 365 days a year which incorporates a Junior Ostomy Support Helpline (JOSH), a wide variety of support literature and factsheets, a high quality quarterly magazine, home or hospital visits, a private Facebook group, an informative website and a two yearly educational open day for ostomates and their family members.
