I obtained a degree in Biochemistry from Nottingham University in 1987 and trained as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG Peat Marwick, qualifying in 1991. I have worked in manufacturing for nearly 25 years mostly in finance and joined Welland Medical in 2002 as Finance Manager, becoming Finance Director in 2006 and Managing Director in 2010. I am proud to head up a company that I have had the privilege to see grow over the last 17 years from a small company with sales of less than £5m to reach sales in 2018 of over £30m. Much of this growth has come from our successful partnership with over 40 export distributors and unique new product designs including the Aura/Aurum range with Manuka Honey.

2018 was our 30th Anniversary year and we took time to celebrate throughout the year with our distribution partners and our very loyal members of staff, many of whom have stayed with us for over 20 years. 2018 was a great year for the company where we had a record level of sales but also produced a record number of pouches.

As we enter 2019, we have a full order book as our distributors look ahead to a growing demand for our unique products. To cope with this we will be commissioning new equipment during Q1 to meet the ever-increasing needs of our customers in more and more markets around the world. As a business, we are well prepared for the potential outcome of the Brexit discussions and we will monitor updates from government to ensure that we continue to offer products to all of our customers.
