I have been with Welland Medical since 2002, initially as Finance Manager, then as Finance Director and since September 2010 as Managing Director.
I have worked in manufacturing for over 20 years and I am proud to head up a company that manufactures products here in the UK. During this period Welland has grown considerably and has more than trebled the number of stoma pouches that it produces.
My main role since joining the Board of Welland Medical has been to provide a solid financial base in order that the company can grow successfully and realise our vision as Innovators in stoma care. Since 2004, I have worked very closely with Welland distributors to build their businesses successfully, launching many new products with them during this period.
Much of the successful growth that Welland Medical has achieved is a result of product innovation and working closely with our strategic partners around the world. I believe that the future for Welland Medical is strong as the company continues to focus on new product design and innovation that I believe will make a real difference to people’s lives.
Dave Margetts Operations Director
In my role I lead the team controlling the material procurement, product scheduling, manufacture and dispatch of Welland Medical products worldwide.
Having worked within the manufacturing industry for over 25 years I joined Welland Medical in 1999 as Operations Manager charged with taking performance, quality and customer service on to new levels by utilising the skills of our most important asset, our staff, by involvement and empowerment.
I joined the Board of Directors as Operations Director where I now work closely with Chris Primett, our Managing Director, in formulating strategy and achieving objectives always looking to live up to our mission statement of Innovators in stoma care.
I can best sum up Welland Medical by saying that the company is dedicated to improving the lives of ostomates throughout the world by employing all of our people’ skills and technologies in the delivery of a world class service.
Samantha Jackson Sales and Marketing Director
I joined Welland Medical in 2007 as Product Manager for our unique range of ostomy pouches and accessories and subsequently became Sales and Marketing Manager in 2010 and most recently Sales and Marketing Director in 2015.
In my role I lead an excellent team whose focus is to develop our business in new and existing markets, support our international network of distributors, manage Welland’s product portfolio and product evaluations process and work closely with stoma care professionals, patients and key opinion leaders to ensure we continuously improve our products to improve the quality of life for ostomates around the world.
We are a growing company who have built a reputation for our innovative designs and quality of our products. Our staff are key to our continued success and embrace the daily challenges of working for a British manufacturer with motivation and enthusiasm to produce world class products.
Helen Gilbert HR Manager
I am proud to have been with Welland Medical since the company was formed in 1988. During this time I have seen Welland Medical go from strength to strength to being the successful company it is today.
I held various roles before moving into HR about 10 years ago where I am now responsible for all aspects of the personnel function and for ensuring that we follow the principles of the Investors in People Standard to improve the business through the support and development of our people. We have a very dedicated and committed workforce, many of whom have been with Welland Medical for more than 10 years.
Welland’s success is due to the hard work of each and every individual and a shared vision of being Innovators in stoma care. Everyone has a genuine desire to work together to improve processes and practices to ensure that this success is sustained for many years to come.
Mathew WynnFinance Director
Mathew joined Welland Medical in 2010 as Finance Manager. He was invited to join the board as Finance Director at Welland Medical in 2017 with additional responsibility for IT and Facilities and a member of the leadership team.
Since resigning his commission in the Royal Navy Mathew has practiced as a Chartered Accountant working with businesses to enhance growth and profitability and was invited to become a Fellow of the ICAEW in 2017. With a passion for learning, Mathew has achieved diplomas in Treasury Management and Risk Management from the Association of Corporate Treasurers. On a personal level Mathew is currently learning French and is a parent governor at his daughters’ school.
As a Dad, husband and wannabe tri-athlete Mathew is most likely to be found on his bike or in his trainers exploring, playing with his daughters or racing his wife!
