Main Duties and Responsibilities

As a CAD Technician, your main responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Produce accurate technical drawings, 3D models, layouts, and documentation throughout all project stages, from concept to detailed design and manufacture.
  • Maintain a high standard of file management, change control and verification
  • Create detailed 3D models and drawings in accordance with BS8888 (formerly BS308) standards.
  • Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BoMs) to support manufacturing and project delivery.
  • Apply strong attention to detail to ensure the accuracy, functionality, and compliance of all design outputs within regulated healthcare environments.
  • Utilise CAD and design software to create, modify, and manage technical documentation in line with project and regulatory requirements.
  • Support engineers in design development, prototyping, testing, and validation activities.
  • Prepare and compile test reports to document design verification and validation outcomes.
  • Provide technical expertise to support the core functions and continuous improvement of the business.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary design and project teams to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality, compliant design outputs.

 

Other Duties:

  • Adherence to the Company’s Health and Safety policy at all times and operate and promote the development of quality standards and procedures taking ownership of tasks and to seek new
    improved ways of doing things.
  • A degree of flexibility is required, and the job holder may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above and which will be appropriate to the level of the role. All duties must be carried out in compliance with company Quality System, Health and Safety Policies and regulations set out in the Medical Device Directive.
