We care passionately about the work we do and helping others.

One of the charities Welland support is our local hospice, St Catherines Hospice. St Catherine’s Hospice provides expert hospice care for those in West Sussex and East Surrey when life comes full circle.

This month we held our annual Christmas raffle to help raise funds for the hospice. We had prize donations put forward to help build the hampers from colleagues and suppliers, which were all greatly received.

Samantha Jackson, Managing Director, and Sarah Duckworth, Operations and Engineering Director called out the winning raffle tickets, with 21 lucky colleagues taking home hampers ranging from food and drink to beauty and home accessories.

We also held our first ever ‘The Great Welland Bake Off’ a spin-off of the popular TV show, The Great British Bake Off. Our colleagues put their best baking forward in a bid to be crowned our Star Baker! After our four judges had tasted and marked all the bakes, we had our Star Baker, Operations and Engineering Director, Sarah Duckworth who made a chocolate and raspberry cake, with a truly show-stopping shaved chocolate coating.

Once we had crowned our Star Baker, all the bakes were sold off as part of a bake sale, raising an amazing £111.85. Altogether our fundraising in December enabled us to raise just under £465 for St Catherine’s Hospice!

With an incredible amount raised for such a worthy cause and the New Year on the horizon, 2023 has plenty lined up for more fundraising for worthy causes.
