Last month, our Welland Medical team, including Hendrik Van Der Velde (Business Development Manager), Moira Evans (Clinical Marketing Manager and Stoma Care Nurse), and Chris Bray (Lead Designer Engineer), had the pleasure of participating in the Welland Day event hosted by our Portuguese distributor, SPCare, at the exquisite Hotel dos Templários in Portugal on October 21st and 22nd.

Beyond being a professional gathering, this event provided a unique opportunity to immerse ourselves in Portugal’s rich history and culture. Nestled in the heart of Tomar, the Hotel dos Templários set the stage, offering a picturesque backdrop for collaboration and innovation.

Exploring Portugal’s Rich Heritage

An unforgettable highlight of our visit was the exploration of the Convento de Cristo, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Originally designed as a symbol of the Reconquest, the Convent of the Knights Templar of Tomar underwent a transformation during the Manueline period, becoming a beacon of Portugal’s openness to other civilizations. This historical site offered a unique perspective, aligning with Welland Medical’s commitment to embracing diverse perspectives in ostomy care.
